Richard was very instrumental in helping me legally when my husband was sick and in a nursing home. I needed to get John (my husband) qualified for Medicaid. It was a very difficult thing to deal with, and Richard helped me through it. I have always appreciated his help and knowledge with my situation and would very much recommend him to anyone seeking help in this area.
I worked with Maggie for my estate planning documents. She was very knowledgeable; She answered all my questions thoroughly, but so that I could understand - without a bunch of legal jargon. I had many ‘what if’ questions and she worked me through all possible scenarios with patience. She is very personable and was a pleasure to work with. She always responded to emails and voicemails quickly as well. I definitely feel confident referring my clients, family, and friends to her.
Richard was fantastic with all the help and paperwork while both of my parents were in a nursing home. He knew all legal aspects of what we could and could not do. I would highly recommend him to anyone that has a loved one in the nursing home.
It’s been a long six years since I first contacted Richard in 2011 about my father, who passed away six months later. Then Richard, and ultimately Jessica, were invaluable in providing advice regarding my mother’s finances and estate. Richard's years of experience and his insights were very valuable regarding how to best manage my parents' financial situation. Jessica was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and service oriented in managing the disposition of my mother's estate. I can’t thank both of them enough for all of their support, service, and insights.
Richard Taps and Jessica Roshon were a team of exceptional help to me at a stressful time in my life. He and Jessica made me aware of all the financial materials I needed to gather. They always answered any questions I had promptly. Jessica would send e-mails of what was happening during the process of getting my husband on Medicaid, and she would make phone calls to the facility when necessary. I felt Richard and Jessica were always available to me.
I went to Mr. Taps for help straightening out poor estate planning by another lawyer. The estate was somewhat complex due to a late-life marriage and a husband who had recently had strokes and been diagnosed with dementia. For 3 1/2 years now, Mr. Taps has been consistently the best lawyer I have ever worked with. Some of the things I value: He is easily accessible and responsive. He has excellent ability to grasp complexity quickly and a phenomenal memory for newly introduced detail. He has allowed me to participate as much or as little as I want. He is willing to educate me (and my son) in addition to advising. I attribute the successful Medicaid appeals he has made on my husband's and my behalf to the depth and excellence of his understanding of the law. In addition, his recommendations are realistic but he still lets me know the range of my options so that I can participate in the decision-making process. He is at all times professional, calm, respectful, firm but not overbearing, and reliable. What is also very impressive is that he is persistent; I feel he not only cares about the outcome but is personally invested in it as if it were his own. In my experience, that is unusual and a real treasure. It is has also been very reassuring. My respect and admiration extend beyond him himself to his staff and associates whom I have met. He maintains outstanding office help and has been capable and willing to refer me to equally competent advisers in other areas as needed. While I look forward to working with Mr. Taps for the foreseeable future, I have no qualms about his giving my heirs excellent assistance when they need it. I have recommended him unreservedly to a number of people. Richard T. Taps is across the board the best!
